Television celebrities hosting 2007 Golf Classic

09/11/2007

SPRINGFIELD, VA – September 11, 2007 – Former “JAG” actress Karri Turner (Lt. Harriet Sims) and former “Little House on the Prairie” actor Matthew Labyorteaux (Albert Ingalls) will be on hand to support the SemperComm Golf Classic at the Fort Belvoir Golf Club in Alexandria, VA, on Friday, Sept. 21. Both are participating in the fundraising tournament as celebrity hosts and come to the event via one of SemperComm’s major partners, Stars For Stripes. Stars For Stripes is a nonprofit organization that brings celebrity entertainment to U.S. military personnel deployed to remote locations overseas.

Turner and Labyorteaux will be playing golf at the event, taking photos with participants and signing autographs.

“Karri’s one of our most prolific public advocates. While Matthew is new to the SemperComm team, he and Karri both support U.S. service members,” said Lara Coffee, SemperComm executive director. “We’re very happy to have both of them coming to our event, and thank Stars For Stripes for its continued support.”

The SemperComm Golf Classic is a four-person scramble with a 2 p.m. shotgun start. Registration starts at 12 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. A $10,000 putting contest is open to all tournament participants, and prizes will be awarded.

Members of the media are also encouraged to attend and cover this charitable event. For more information about covering the event, please contact SemperComm at 703.923.7612.
